In the warm atmosphere of celebrating the Centennial of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and at the time when timeframes of the two centenary goals converge, the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee was successfully held in Beijing from November 8th to 11th , 2021 and adopted the Resolution of the CPC Central Committee on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party's Centennial Struggle (hereinafter referred to as the Resolution).

The meeting, which was held at a critical moment when China embarks on a new journey of building a great modernized socialist country, summed up the achievements and experience of the Party over the past 100 years, highlighted that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. This reflects the common will of the Party, the armed forces, and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, and is of decisive significance for advancing the cause of the Party and the country in the new era and for driving forward the process of national rejuvenation.

The CPC is always good at drawing wisdom and strength from history and move forward. Since its birth, the CPC has adopted two such Resolutions, namely, the Resolution on Certain Historical Issues which was adopted in 1945 and 1981 respectively. Each of these Resolutions systematically summarized historical experience, unified the whole Party and people at major historical junctures, and played an important role in advancing the cause of the Party and the people.

The centennial course of the party has proved to the world with hard facts that the ultimate reason why the Chinese people and the Chinese nation have been able to reverse their historical destiny after the modern era and made the great achievements they have today is the strong leadership of the CPC. The nation is composed of people, and people are all that matter to the nation. Having its roots, blood, strength in the people, the party in the century-long journey is always invincible.The glorious course of the Party speaks loud that the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics is a correct one, and only socialism can save China, and only socialism can develop China.

The CPC and the Chinese people have taken the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics unswervingly for decades and will continue to do so with determination. At the same time, the party's leadership and the whole party are well aware of that the CPC as an advanced Marxist party is not born naturally, it needs continuous self-revolution and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is never easy, it needs to draw lessons from history all the time. These historical lessons are valuable experience accumulated through long-term practice and are the spiritual wealth jointly created by the Party and the people. To see clearly why we were able to succeed in the past and understand how we can continue to succeed in the future, we can be more determined and more conscious on the way forward.

Therefore, the Resolution adopted at the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee will have far-reaching guiding significance in ensuring that the whole Party moves forward in unison, improving the Party's ability to fight and cope with all kinds of risks and challenges, maintaining the vitality of the Party, uniting and leading the people of all ethnic groups to work tirelessly for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The meeting also adopted a resolution on convening the 20th CPC National Congress in the second half of 2022 in Beijing which will be a great political event next year, when the CPC lead the Chinese people to embark on a new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

China and African countries, as good friends, good brothers and good partners, have enjoyed time-honored traditional friendship and fruitful cooperation. For a long time, African countries have given firm support to China's nation building, its great cause of peaceful reunification and on many international issues. It is worth emphasizing that the exchange and mutual learning of experience in each other’s state and party governance has always been an important area of China-Africa relations and greatly facilitated the practical cooperation between the two sides. The Eighth Ministerial Meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation(FOCAC) will be held in Dakar on Nov 29 and 30. This will be another grand event to elevate China-Africa friendship and cooperation to a higher level. China will share the abundant opportunities brought by its own fast development with African countries in a better way, and more importantly, will share its valuable experience in state and party governance with African countries.
