On April 30, 2019, per the invitation of the University of Western Cape(UWC), Consul General Lin Jing delivered a speech on the subject of China's Foreign Policay, China-Africa and China-South Africa relations at the University .

 

In his speech, Consul General Lin emphasized that the bilateral relations between China and South Africa are in a  "golden harvest season" . China welcomes South Africa's participation in the International cooperation of Belt and Road Initiative, and supports South Africa's role as a locomotive and pilot country aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with African development.

Professor Tyrone Pretorius, Rector and Vice Chancellor of the UWC, Mr. Umesh Bawa, Director of International Relations Office of the UWC, representatives of the SASCO, and more than 100 faculty and students attended the lecture.
