In order to further promote its consular services, the consular office of the Chinese Consulate-General will reopen to the public on Tuesday, 22 November 2022. The work schedule and details are as follows:

I.The opening hours of the consular office are from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, except for public holidays.

II. The consular office only accepts applications for Chinese diplomatic, service (official), courtesy visas, as well as Chinese legalization. For ordinary Chinese visas, please contact the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Johannesburg.

III.All applicants are required to make appointments with the consular office in advance through email and come to the consulate at a confirmed time slot. The email address is capetown_hz@csm.mfa.gov.cn. Legalization applications delivered to the office by post or courier will still be accepted.

IV. For health and safety reasons, applicants are required to take the security and temperature check on site. Face masks must be worn indoors all the time. Applicants who don’t meet the requirements will be denied entry into the office.

V. Please be kindly noted that the Consular District of the Chinese Consulate-General in Cape Town includes: WESTERN CAPE, EASTERN CAPE, and NORTHERN CAPE. Only applicants residing in the above-mentioned area can lodge their applications at the Consulate.
