On January 25, 2017, Ms Sylvia Lucas, Premier of the Northern Cape, wrote to Chinese community extending her warm wishes for the Chinese New Year.

CHINESE NEW YEAR MESSAGE

 

On behalf of the people of the Northern Cape and the Provincial Government, we hereby convey to the Chinese community our good wishes and warm sentiments for the New Year.

We trust that your New Year will be most meaningful and prosperous, no only for the Chinese community in the Northern Cape but in the mainland of China as well. We also express the hope that our ties, in all its entirety, is further consolidated and solidified for our mutual good, especially in the area of job creation. May all dreams and aspirations be realized in this new year, the year of the Rooster!
