On 25 April,2026, Chinese Consul General in Cape Town Ren Faqiang was invited to attend the opening ceremony of 4th Africa International Youth Kungfu Championship. Founder of the Championship and Martial arts champion Shifu M.J.Li Chafeker, president of UWMAF Imtiyaz Abdullah,mayoral committee member, Alderman JP Smith,MP Nazier Paulsen and nearly a hundred young athletes from eight African countries including South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe attended.

In his speech,Consul General Ren extended his warm congratulations on the successful hosting of this Championship. He stated that, as an influential youth martial arts event across the African continent, the championship offers a valuable platform for young African martial arts enthusiasts to exchange skills and learn from one another. He commended the event for taking root in disadvantaged communities of Cape Town and continuously creating development opportunities for local teenagers. He encouraged young athletes to carry forward the true values of martial arts, compete with passion and determination, and let Kung Fu become a lasting bond of friendship between China, South Africa and the broader African continent.
