On 12 August 2026, Consul General Ren Faqiang met Adriaan, Chief Executive Officer of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.

The two sides held friendly exchanges on cooperation in people-to-people exchange between China and South Africa, and agreed to continuously strengthen practical cooperation including orchestra visits.

Earlier, Consul General Ren visited the Artscape Theatre Centre and met Marlene, Chief Executive Officer of the theatre. He stated that the Consulate General is ready to serve as a bridge to promote exchanges between Chinese and South African art troupes and contribute to fostering people-to-people bonds.
