On 18 June，2026, Deputy Consul General Wang Xiao of the Chinese Consulate General in Cape Town led young diplomats from the Consulate General to Westerford High School in Cape Town, South Africa, for a dialogue with more than 70 students of the school who are scheduled to embark on a study tour to China.

Combining the students’ upcoming study tour itinerary, the young diplomats delivered an in-depth presentation covering China’s national development, distinctive urban landscapes across the country, diverse culinary cultures, traditional Chinese festivals and basic conversational Chinese. Drawing on vivid real-life examples and adopting a youth-friendly perspective, they elaborated on the essence of Chinese culture, allowing the students to engage with and gain a deeper understanding of China in a relaxed setting.

The event featured a warm and lively atmosphere with active interactions. The students listened with great interest and raised questions enthusiastically, all expressing eager anticipation for their upcoming trip to China.
