Our Consulate General officially opened in February 1999, being the first Chinese Consulate General established in South Africa. The consular district covers Western Cape Province, Eastern Cape Province and Northern Cape Province.

China and South Africa are good friends and good partners with  a special bond of “comrades plus brothers”. In 2024, the Heads of State of the two countries announced the elevation of the China-South Africa relationship to an all-round strategic cooperative partnership in the new era, injecting strong impetus into the bilateral cooperation. In recent years, exchanges between the three Cape Provinces and China’s sister provinces and cities have become increasingly close, with cooperation in economy, trade, science and technology, culture and other fields continuously deepened and fruitful results achieved.

This website is designed to be a platform for information on China-South Africa relations, especially the exchanges and cooperation between China and our consular area. The Consulate General will always adhere to the concept of sincere service,provide high-quality and efficient consular services for Chinese nationals and foreign friends, and promote continuous progress in bilateral exchanges and cooperation to new heights.
